Easy Chick Crafts for Kids + Books & Activities for Spring
I was recently collecting recipes for my Easter appetizers when I came across the most adorable chick snack ideas—and immediately thought, this would make the cutest theme for kids! From there, the idea grew into a full-on chick-themed activity day: make a sweet little chick treat, create a fun craft, read a few themed books, and suddenly you have a mini lesson or an easy, joyful activity to do at home with little ones.
So I did what I usually do when I’m looking for inspiration—I reached out to fellow mom and craft bloggers and asked them to share some of their favorite chick crafts. The ideas they shared are perfect for Easter celebrations, springtime play, or simply creating sweet memories together. Some of these crafts even double as keepsakes, like chick handprints you can save and remake year after year to see just how much your little one has grown.
Chick & Spring Books for Ages 3–8
Pairing crafts with books is one of my favorite ways to stretch an activity a little further. We’ll make a little chick craft, then curl up and read and or make a little sweet treat to go with story time. When my kids were little, we also loved mixing in something gentle to watch, and we stumbled on Peep and the Big Wide World on PBS — it is so cute. It has simple little lessons throughout, and it fits perfectly with any spring or bird-themed learning you might be doing this time of year.
