13 Easy Halloween Crafts & Activities
You know how sometimes you just need something simple to keep the kids busy but still want it to feel seasonal and fun? That’s exactly where I’m at with holiday crafting. I don’t want anything that requires a ten-step supply list, just easy little projects that make the house feel festive and keep tiny hands entertained for an afternoon.
We’re talking paper plates, pom poms, googly eyes… the kind of things you probably already have floating around in your craft bin. My kids love it because they get to make silly ghosts and sticky slime, and I love it because I can actually sip my coffee while they’re at the table instead of hovering over a glue gun.
So I rounded up 13 of my favorite ideas (from fellow moms and crafty bloggers who get it)— the kind that make October feel magical without leaving me with a giant mess (or an Amazon cart full of random supplies)!

My Always-On-Hand Craft Supplies
Okay, truthfully… the only reason I can pull out a craft at the drop of a hat is because I keep a bin of basics tucked away. It doesn’t need to be fancy, just the good old staples. Here’s my list (and I’ll link budget-friendly options if you want to stock your own):
Construction paper (the big rainbow pack that lasts forever)
White cardstock (for printables and sturdier crafts)
Washable paints + brushes
Glue sticks + liquid glue (kids have strong opinions, so I keep both)
Safety scissors for the kids + one sharp pair for mom
Googly eyes (a must in my craft box, variety of sizes, the sticker ones are *best*!)
Pom poms & pipe cleaners (a giant bag lasts all forever)
Markers and crayons (nothing fancy)
Paper plates (white or colored)
Brown paper lunch bags
Magnetic sheets
Zip bags (to corral all the extra pieces before they take over the junk drawer); the extra large size are awesome to keep around for random things!
So grab your coffee, toss some supplies on the table, and let the kids do their thing. These simple Halloween activities will keep your little ones busy, create some intentional family time and make your home feel festive with all of their little creations!!
Happy Halloween!!
