Cozy Autumn Playlist for Heart & Home
I know I’m not the only one who remembers sitting by the radio, finger hovering over the record button on the boombox, just waiting for your favorite song to play! (And of course, the DJ would always talk over the beginning, the struggle was real in 90s.) Music has always been a big part of my life. Back then it was mixed tapes, CDs and then burned playlists, now it’s Spotify in the kitchen! No matter how I have listened to my music, it has always rooted me back to myself…and now I use it as a tool to set the tone in the home.
As a mom, music has become a staple in our family rhythm. From cleaning days to cozy reading time, or the kids scattered around the table with crayons and puzzles, I often have a playlist going. The second I press play, the house feels calmer, and everything just feels… cozier.
A No Effort Seasonal Homemaking Hack
This is one of my favorite little “mom hacks” for seasonal (holistic) homemaking. You don’t need a full reset or a big seasonal haul (though yes, I will never say no to a new scented candle or fresh essential oil). Sometimes all it takes is turning on the right music and suddenly your home feels like autumn. Bonus points if you’ve got a candle flickering on the counter—battery candles totally count, because that’s what I personally use most of the time.
For me, soft piano and instrumental music give me all of the cozy vibes this time of year. There’s something about these songs that feels both grounding and uplifting. I love to play this when I am making a favorite fall soup or we are winding down with the kids to do a family puzzle or cuddle up with a book, it just helps to bring a little (no effort) intentionality to our everyday.
Cozy Autumn Playlist
Here’s the playlist I’ve been loving lately. It’s full of calming modern classical pieces and cinematic piano that feel like autumn in music form:
Quatuor de l'adolescence – Guillaume Roussel
Nuvole Bianche – Ludovico Einaudi
The First Autumn Leaf – Luca Morelli
Foliage – Charles Weathersby
Le grand cahier: I. La forêt et la rivière – Alexander Litvinovsky
Una Mattina – Ludovico Einaudi, Gautier Capuçon, Jerome Ducros
Automne – Ethan Elgar
Satie Variation (Violin & Piano) – Erik Satie, Esther Abrami, Iyad Sughayer
