summer smoothie recipes for moms

In my mid-twenties, I had the privilege of helping a natural health practitioner open a juice bar. It came at the perfect time—I was finishing my coaching certification in holistic nutrition and sort of obsessed with that healthy lifestyle. This is not to say I’m not still into it (I am!), but once you become a mother of twins, your priorities shift. And that’s a post for another day.

One thing I did become addicted to during that season? Creating juice and smoothie recipes. I was beyond excited to craft juices for our shop, hello, free juice and bonus: no need to clean my own juicer every day (if you know, you know!).

These days, I still love making fresh juices—especially in the summer when I am craving those lighter (and energizing, because keeping up with the kids all day everyday requires *extra* energy!). I’ll often make a batch just for sipping, and then pour the extra into my smoothies throughout the week. It’s an easy way to boost flavor and skin-loving nutrients without any extra fuss.

So here’s the real talk: Should you juice or blend? You’ll hear all kinds of opinions. Some say juice is too sugary, others say it’s a waste without fiber, and someone else will insist you need a $600 machine to even get started. 🙄

Here’s what I believe—do what works for you. Life changes. Our bodies change. Our wellness routines need to flow with our season, not against it.

If you’re looking to give your skin a little summer love, these recipes are a gentle, nourishing place to start. Whether you’re sipping a fresh juice, blending up a smoothie, or sneaking spinach into your toddler’s banana blend—these ingredients are full of nutrients your body (and skin!) will thank you for.
